Annual DRRA Pool Work Days - 2012

We need your help at the Annual DRRA Pool Work Days - 2012!

Help prepare the pool and grounds for Opening Day on May 5th. There’s lots of cleaning, fixing, painting & planting to do!

When:	Saturday & Sunday, April 21st & 22nd 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (Rain date: Saturday & Sunday, April 28th & 29th)
Who:	All ACTIVE, full summer, or August/September members are eligible to participate and earn guest passes.
What:	Earn 4 passes for each hour of work per person (as long as there is work). Minimum age for earning passes is 12 years— no exceptions. Younger children are welcome to attend with an adult.
How:	Register by e-mail to Laura Wiberg at rlwiberg@gmail.com. In your email, please note: DRRA membership number, names of attendees, and phone number.

Annual Member Meeting Update

DRRA held its annual member meeting on December 7, 2011 at the Church of the Covenant. Despite uncooperative weather, we had a good turnout from the membership. Reports from the 2011 pool season included an update on storm damage and the quick response from Manager Mike Clark and Board member Laura Wiberg to ensure that the pool was cleaned up and ready for use by members, new events such as the Adult Socials and Kids’ Float Nights, the new and improved DRRA website and plans to migrate to an on-line member management system. There was also a lengthy discussion about ongoing long-term facilities planning. DRRA is currently awaiting Arlington County approval of a few projects and an update will be sent out to members when we learn more. Finally, the DRRA by-laws (pdf) were amended to appoint a representative of the swim and dive teams to the Board of Directors as non-voting members for one year terms.
